Lantmännen Unibake makes significant investment in South-East Europe
Lantmännen Unibake, a leading global provider of fresh and frozen bakery products, continues to pursue an impactful growth strategy and prepares for significant expansion to strengthen its position and capacity in South-East Europe.
Lantmännen Unibake now commences the first step in a total €90 million investment plan in a new state-of-the art bakery in Romania to continue its ongoing expansion and accelerate growth in South-East Europe.
“I am proud to inform about the plans of another ambitious investment to support Unibake’s continued growth,” says Chief Commercial Officer at Lantmännen Unibake, Jan E. Hertz. “South-East Europe is a strategically important market for us. We are strongly committed to our customers and their growth ambitions and, despite the current challenging business environment, also optimistic about the future. With this investment we significantly expand on our activities in this region, strengthening our foundations for increased competitiveness and future growth of our business”, he says.
The total investment is a further strengthening of Unibake’s offer within bake-off bread specialties and fast food products. Once implemented it will provide Unibake with sufficient capacity to fulfill current and future consumer needs in the entire region. We remain true to our global mission – to deliver high quality products that will make people feel satisfied and happy in every corner of the world. Towards billions of smiling tummies.
The planned, total investment entails future creation of more than 300 new jobs on top of the 130 people already employed at Lantmännen Unibake Romania.
Lantmännen Unibake is one of Europe's largest bakery groups. We employ 6,000 people across 20 countries and market our leading frozen and fresh bakery products for retail, QSR and food service in more than 60 markets around the world.
