Bridging Generations: Lea Koch’s master thesis journey with Unibake

Turning curiosity into a case study 

Lea studied Leadership and Organization at Malmö University. For her master’s thesis, she was curious about something many companies - including Unibake - experience every day: how different generations work together, and whether a knowledge gap exists between them.

Her goal?

To understand how that gap can be bridged and how collaboration across generations can be fostered in the workplace.

“I wanted to see if there is a knowledge gap and how it can be bridged - and also how collaboration between different generations can be fostered at Unibake,” Lea shares.

At Unibake, she found not only access to relevant data, but also people who were eager to share their experiences. That gave her the chance to combine academic theory with real-life practices.

When asked about the most exciting part of her thesis journey, Lea points to the people:

“The collaboration was really good, and I really liked the team I was working with,” she says. “It helped me narrow down my topic because Unibake already has an approach to generational diversity. I could dive into that.”

From thesis to future path

Lea’s experience at Unibake didn’t just lead to a completed thesis - it helped shape her professional direction.

“The experience taught me a lot about collaboration,” she reflects. “It showed me that it’s okay to ask for help and that people are often more willing to support you than you think. Working on a real case and seeing how theory meets practice really motivated me to continue working within the people and culture space."
