Lantmännen is an agricultural cooperative and Northern Europe’s leader in agriculture, machinery, bioenergy and food products.
The foundation for working with sustainability in Lantmännen rests on a number of responsible business fundamentals. Some are subject to regulation and supervision, others are rules, principles, and values embedded into our practice through years of working together with customers, suppliers, and authorities.
Programs
We have identified 8 areas of special interest to sustainability stakeholders. To meet information demands, we have built a sustainability program for each area.
Program for palm oil
In 2015, we began switching our production to RSPO-certified segregated palm oil or palm oil-free ingredients. Today, all our manufacturing sites using palm oil, and all the products we buy containing palm oil, conform to the RSPO-certification requirements.

Lantmännen Unibake's strategy for plastic ensures a responsible and sustainable use. Our ambition is to use only fossil-free or recycled plastic by 2030.

Globally, Lantmännen Unibake uses more than 2,000 tons of egg products per year. Since the beginning of 2020, we have been sourcing 100% of this volume cage-free.

Climate & Nature-program
“Climate & Nature” is Lantmännen’s program for Farming of the Future. The program includes specific measures to reduce climate impact from cultivation and boost biodiversity. Wheat cultivated in line with the “Climate & Nature”-program has up to 30% less climate impact than wheat cultivated more traditionally.

Program for genetic modified organisms (GMO)
Lantmännen Unibake does not use or allow the use of GMO-materials in our products. All our products are GMO-free according to European legislation. We do everything in our power to ensure the absence of GMO in our products and comply with all appropriate legislation.
