Green Site Certification

Formal criteria for being and stating green

The purpose of a Green Site Certification in Lantmännen Unibake is to engage every employee in baking for a better world by knowing our sustainability agenda and focus. We want to make employees feel that they have a personal impact on sustainability when working for us.

We believe that Green Site certifications will foster creativity in the broader community to rethink how things have traditionally been done to the benefit of accelerating our sustainability results. We also believe that receiving a certificate will increase pride and a sense of belonging throughout the company.

Our hope is that Green Site Certifications will create sustainability ambassadors who spread the word about what we do – to customers, consumers, suppliers, future colleagues, and partners.

Every year, a re-certification process will take place to make sure Green Sites stay green.

The Green Site Certification concept evolves around different criteria:

• They include multiple aspects of our sustainability strategy (climate, health, people).
• They are applicable to all sites, offices, and bakeries.
• They are applicable to all employees.
• They involve local management teams via self-assessment and employees via a short survey.
• They include certain pre-requisites which must be fulfilled to enter the program.
• They define sub-dimensions with specific measures on each question.
• They require a minimum threshold for each sub-dimension and an overall threshold.

Goal on Green Site Certification

By 2030

• 100% of all Lantmännen Unibake sites will be Green Site certified.
